The Department of Trade and Industry Regional
Operations and Development Group (DTI RODG) and the German technical
agency Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
will formally launch a national project that encourages
environment friendly and inclusive strategies for economic development
called Promotion of Green Economic Development or ProGED.
ProGED is piloted in the tourism value chain of Bohol and Cebu, with the
aim to upscale outside the pilot areas and sector starting in the
second year.
There will be a press conference on March 13,
2013, 11:00 in the morning, at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel in Cebu City
to highlight the results of the ProGED Start Up Workshop/ Event.
The Start Up Workshop/Event is part of a series of activities to
commence implementation of the new project. It will be attended by major
project stakeholders from the provinces of Bohol and Cebu as well as
from the national level.
