DTI 7 Plans to Hire Human Resource Assistant & IT Specialist


The Department of Trade and Industry Central Visayas Regional Office (DTI 7) is planning to hire on a contractual basis a Human Resource Assistant and  an Information Technology Specialist.

According to DTI 7, applicants to the position of Human Resource Assistant must be graduate of a four year course, preferably a Psychology Major.

Applicants to the HR Assistant position must also have Civil Service Professional eligibility and knowledgeable in HR related matters especially training competencies.

Applicants to the position of IT Specialist must be at least a Bachelor’s Degree graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related course.

Interested applicants to IT Specialist position must also have Civil Service Professional eligibility, extensive experience in troubleshooting, sufficient experience in network troubleshooting and knowledge in structured cabling.

For applicants to IT Specialist position, experience with MS Windows 7, MS XP, MS Office 2003, MS Office 2007 is needed while knowledge in software development is an advantage.

DTI Launches Search for Outstanding MSMEs

The Department of Trade and Industry is encouraging heads of government agencies and privates organizations to submit to the DTI Provincial Offices nominees to the SME Star Awards. Self nominations are welcome.

The SME Star Awards is part of the SME Star Program, an SME competency program
that supports and gives due recognition to outstanding MSMEs who persevere to
improve their growth both in domestic and foreign markets.

According to the DTI Central Visayas Office, there are two components contained
in the SME Star Program framework which include Capability Building
and Award Components.

The framework is also divided into three stages of business operations namely:
Start-up and SME Capability Building Stage, Domestic Market Penetration and
Export Awareness Stage and Export & Expansion Stage.

Under the Capability Building Component, various services and/or interventions
that will enable an enterprise to grow its business from one particular stage
to the next are incorporated within the SME competency framework.



Within the SME Star Program
framework are recognitions/awards that will be given to deserving MSMEs namely:
SME Rising Star Award, SME Star Elite Award and SME Star Presidential Award.


Target nominees for the SME
Star Awards are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises engaged in manufacturing,
agri-business, services and the creative industries.


Nominating agencies in the
provincial level are government agencies and private organizations who provide
programs and services to MSMEs.

Nominations to the SME Star Program must be submitted to the Provincial MSMED
Council through the DTI-Provincial Office.

The screening committees will include the MSMED Council, MSMED Council
Executive Executive Committee, Regional MSMED Councils or Equivalent Bodies,
Provincial MSMED Councils, Board of Judges composed of leaders from various
sectors, and the MSMED Council Secretariat.


The SME Rising Star Award will be conferred to outstanding MSMEs in the
provincial level.

The SME Star Elite Award will be conferred to outstanding MSMEs in the regional
level.

The SME Star Presidential Award shall be conferred to outstanding MSMEs on a
national level who are winners of regional SME Star Elite Awards.
